Itinerary.

Thursday 18th March

We will depart Wagga Wagga Airport at sunrise and will arrive at Hobart airport where chauffeurs will be waiting to take you to the hotel to get ready for the day. In the afternoon we will leave the capital and will visit two of the premium wineries in Richmond and explore some of the historic sites. Stroll down the pretty nineteenth century streets in Richmond after tasting the amazing cool climate wines of Tasmania.

The first night we will have a casual relaxing night gathering for a real Australian dining experience at a local tavern. It wouldn’t be a domestic vacation without it.

Friday 19th March

On the second day we will combine beautiful scenery with handcrafted gin, whisky and liqueurs. Tasman Peninsula is known for its spectacular coastlines, caves, blowholes and the drive there will be very special to say the least. In the morning we will be visiting three distilleries specialising in whisky, gin, vodka, rum and liqueurs. You will have an opportunity to taste some of the world’s best-known spirits and meet the makers behind the beautiful products. For lunch the stunning venue of Bangor Vineyard will put on a gorgeous spread for us using local produce matched with their wines.

Back at Hobart we will finish off the day with a g&t or a whisky at Lark Cellar Door’s warm and inviting atmosphere. In the evening you will have a chance to have a date night and discover the food and wine scene of Hobart.

Saturday 20th March

This day is packed with a bit of everything. We will start the day by visiting two distilleries in beautiful Derwent Valley which is just a short drive away from Hobart. A two-course lunch will be served at this breathtakingly stunning venue, Frogmore Creek winery that is now the largest, ultra-premium winery in Tasmania. It wouldn’t be a visit to a vineyard without a little wine tasting too.

In the afternoon, we will have an opportunity to visit Killara Distillery which is yet to be open to public! Kristy Booth-Lark, the daughter of ‘The Godfather Of Tasmanian Whisky’ Bill Lark will be taking us through their premium quality, hand crafted single malt whisky and other premium spirits. We will finish the afternoon at a micro-brewery back in Hobart.

The day won’t be over yet however. For our last night in Tasmania, we have something very special planned, an all-inclusive mystery dinner personally prepared by their executive chef Vince Trim at Faro. Each course will be matched with a wine and guided by a personal sommelier. It will be the perfect ending for our long weekend away.

Sunday 21st March

Before we make our way back to Hobart airport you will have the morning to yourself. Take a walk along the iconic waterfront, explore the various galleries in the city or have a lazy morning in bed.

Sadly, we will have to say our goodbyes back in Wagga Wagga but we will always have our memories from the weekend. Thank you for being a part of our first ever Meccanico getaway!
